Rebranding just a little bit!:Hey y'all! So it's been a hot minute! A lot of the past few months have been letting my brain rest and making baby steps in the background. I hit a level of burnout I didn't know was possible and had severe skill regression that made doing almost everything impossible. Yay autism and ADHD!
BUT! I am now on ADHD meds which is also helping my fibro. I'm still figuring out the right dose, but I'm getting there! I've started working on art commissions again - especially DFBs! Also, I've taken my time to do some rebranding of my website and my brand! When I'd originally made my logo it was sort of half assed. I just needed something that had my face on it so people could recognize me. It'll still be my icon for social media so people won't get confused, but my other branding is changing! My tag line of "thorny, corny, horny stories" was just TOO GOOD not to capitalize on branding-wise, so I went a little nuts! In terms of writing, I've done some brain storming and plotting, but no serious writing. But that's going to change soon. I got really stuck on Sharn's Honeybee for a variety of reasons. When creating my Orc Matched valentines, I realized I hadn't added more MUCH NEEDED content of Sharn and Mia on Talam! I've got the ideas now, and am adding it to the story where needed. Blending the new content with the old might be a little tricky, but this story is SO worth it! Beyond Sharn's Honeybee, I've got some plans in the works. I'm so excited for what's to come this year in 2024! |
My Generative AI Policy Regarding My Work:My policy is simple: NO Generative AI.
I don't use it in my art and I don't use it in my writing. It's exploitative of creatives and just ethically unsound. All of my books are human made. I design the covers (using a mix of compositing, paint over, and from scratch techniques), all of the writing and even the formatting is done by me. I'm planning on adding this stamp on my book covers moving forward! Autism & Progressive Space:If you're not aware, I am self-diagnosed autistic and officially diagnosed ADHD. I'm going in for an official autism assessment at the end of the month.
I realized, going over my old manuscripts for a book I wrote a decade ago, that I tend to write autistic FMCs. Amelia from the Rhuger books in my Orc Matched series is autistic and I've written my experiences into her character. My primary aim, outside of writing fun stories, is to cultivate a multiverse that is a progressive, inclusive, and supportive space. Where experiences that aren't mine are written sensitively with honor, respect, dignity, and compassion. I want to showcase the spectrum of humanity as best I can! |

MIA
I'd lost everything within a week. My job, the bungalow I rented, and my sanity. All I had left was my beekeeping business, my pets, and my car. Lady Luck was on my side because my favorite client, Ruth, insisted I stay on her farm until I could get back on my feet. The last thing I expected was to nearly wreck my car in Ruth's driveway because I'd caught sight of the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen. Sharn is the orc captain of an all-female fighting force on Ruth's farm to protect a portal to another world. When the bees on the orc planet Talam have a bit of a hive problem, I'm brought into the fold and asked to go with Sharn to fix it. The only problem is Sharn and I can't keep our hands off one another. She claims she's my cridhe, my soul mate, and I'm too love-struck to argue. When disaster hits the portal town of Dòiche, the entirety of my world narrows down to the single question: will the love of my life make it back alive? |
SHARN
Being captain of the Iolaire'lasair is the greatest achievement of my life. But when Banrigh Amelia fixes the Geata, the portal between Talam and Earth, I see my red thread of destiny. Not only mine but others as well, an ability no one else seems to have. Working on Ruth's farm, building a cottage, and splitting my time between Orc Rock Farm and the portal town of Dòiche, are good distractions for the itch that's under my skin to find my cridhe. When a distraught Mia shows up on the farm, one look is all it takes for me to fall in love with her. I have no doubt she is my cridhe and I'd do anything to protect her. After fixing a hive problem on Talam, my wildest dreams come true when our cridhe marks appear, breaking all known tradition amongst the orckin. But our bond is immediately tested, first with Mia needing surgery, then with the attack on Dòiche. All I want is to stay by my honeybee's side, but to protect her, I must protect the Geata at all costs. |
