Online Shop Launch + Life UpdatesHello, my critterkin!
The summer was LONG and full of trials as my narc ex-cop dad had hip replacement surgery, recovered very well, I packed up all of my things and Mom's things, we moved 2k miles away from Dad, and started our new quiet life. Only to find out Mom has cancer. So, Mom and I made the journey back, are staying somewhere safe that is NOT with Dad, have been taking Mom to appointments and tests, and have been trying to finish a few books while we hurry up and wait. Mom's BIG biopsy is this month, and we'll also be finding out what kind of treatment they're going to go with. We miss home and our cats, and we just wanna go home. So fingers crossed the treatment is swift! I'm also facing getting Dad diagnosed with Dementia so we can place him in a home, which will come with its own drama and stress, especially with my half-siblings. All of this on top of the insanity that is our country and world right now. Unsurprisingly, my depression has reared its ugly head, and I've been beating it back with a stick the best I can. In good news, Book Harvest Book Con was a BLAST! I'm probably only doing 1 or 2 events next year. Also, despite everything, I'm making good progress on several books! Right now, I'm in the last stretch of writing When You Leashed Expect It and have started fleshing out Mari Lwydmas as I've been deep-diving into research on Mari Lwyds. ALSO! I have soft-launched my shop! Right now, you can purchase and pre-order e-books, and I'm working to get proof samples of paperbacks and hardbacks for purchase! E-book delivery will be through BookFunnel, and physical book delivery will be through BookVault (a print-on-demand drop-ship service). I'll have signed bookplates available in my shop soon, too! |
My Gen-AI Policy Regarding My Work:My policy is simple: NO Generative AI.
I don't use it in my art and I don't use it in my writing. It's exploitative of creatives and just ethically unsound. All of my books are human made. I design the covers (using a mix of compositing, paint over, and from scratch techniques), all of the writing and even the formatting is done by me. I'm planning on adding this stamp on my book covers moving forward! Autism & Progressive Space:If you're not aware, I am diagnosed autistic and ADHD. I've also got MDD, Anxiety, PTSD, C-PTSD, Delayed Auditory Processing, and more.
I realized, going over my old manuscripts for a book I wrote a decade ago, that I tend to write autistic FMCs. Amelia from the Rhuger books in my Orc Matched series is autistic and I've written my experiences into her character. My primary aim, outside of writing fun stories, is to cultivate a multiverse that is a progressive, inclusive, and supportive space. Where experiences that aren't mine are written sensitively with honor, respect, dignity, and compassion. I want to showcase the spectrum of humanity as best I can! |
