Revisiting Projects + AppearancesHeyo! Over the winter one thing was made crystal clear to me. I'm not gonna be cashin' the checks my dumbass decided to write last year. I had planned on being at a lot of events this year, but between family and health issues, I'm going to be stepping back quite a bit. I'll likely only be at two, maybe three, events this year, DEFINITELY at Book Harvest, but the rest, I'm still contemplating.
As for projects, I've been revisiting my plan for the year, not that I've really announced said plan. I'm going to be focusing a LOT on writing this year to finish up the fat stack of WIPs I've got sitting on the back burner. I WILL be updating my website as I go though, as there's a lot of content to add. Art-wise, I am only taking commissions in the form of trades, and currently ONLY with a set number of authors. I just don't have the bandwidth for more. Especially if I want to get any of my projects done. As I update my website, I'll also be adding back my artwork. I took nearly all of it down in order to run it through Glaze and Nightshade as a measure against genAI. ALSO, my online store will be changing up as well. I want to offer a broad range of merch and product, but I do not have the bandwidth or space to have all of it on hand. This change will likely be in the form of splitting my shop into two: Author Direct and Merch. Author Direct meaning you're buying directly from me and it'll be shipped from me, Merch meaning it'll be print on demand and shipped by Printful. |
My Gen-AI Policy Regarding My Work:My policy is simple: NO Generative AI.
I don't use it in my art and I don't use it in my writing. It's exploitative of creatives and just ethically unsound. All of my books are human made. I design the covers (using a mix of compositing, paint over, and from scratch techniques), all of the writing and even the formatting is done by me. I'm planning on adding this stamp on my book covers moving forward! Autism & Progressive Space:If you're not aware, I am self-diagnosed autistic and officially diagnosed ADHD. I'm going in for an official autism assessment at the end of the month.
I realized, going over my old manuscripts for a book I wrote a decade ago, that I tend to write autistic FMCs. Amelia from the Rhuger books in my Orc Matched series is autistic and I've written my experiences into her character. My primary aim, outside of writing fun stories, is to cultivate a multiverse that is a progressive, inclusive, and supportive space. Where experiences that aren't mine are written sensitively with honor, respect, dignity, and compassion. I want to showcase the spectrum of humanity as best I can! |
